Delicious coffee. My picture. Y’all should see my new coffee cups! |
Have I ever told you guys that I’m a SOUTHERN GAL?
Specifically, Eastern North Carolina and I do love it here!
We have such a lovely springtime season and I’m thrilled to say that
Spring Is Finally Here!!!
However…when the spring comes, the pollen comes with it.
You guys, pollen is the worst. It really is.
I know it happens all over the place – not just here.
And I know that I’m not the only person that has allergies,
but mine are terrible and not being melodramatic when I say:
I’m pretty much almost housebound for the next little while.
SAD FACE.
Thankfully, there is rain outside today so those nasty yellow swirling clouds
that I’ve been seeing now look like this:
Yuck, that is so nasty.

One of my favorite reading places is out in my yard.
I have a nice yard.
Great porches.
A nice view of…other yards and trees and stuff.
Great porches.
A nice view of…other yards and trees and stuff.
But it’s the feeling of the sun on my shoulders while I read
that I crave after the cold weather.
that I crave after the cold weather.
So that’s why I love springtime –
so I can get my butt out on my porches
or in my lawn chairs
and really enjoy reading in the awesome weather here in Eastern North Carolina!

Okay, I’m kind of playing around here.
My yard is truly one of my favorite places to read.
But I do have to wait a little bit longer before I can enjoy the outdoors. 🙁
If I can’t be at the beach reading,
I want to be sitting right…out…there *looks out window*
…just as soon as this pollen goes away!

What are your favorite places to read?
If you’re an outside reader,
do you have to wait around for good weather
or do you live in a place
with mostly great weather?
TELL ME.
Give me a distraction from wanting to be outside!
I LOVE spring too 🙂 It's still a bit chilly here in NY but there was one day this week that was PERFECT! The hubs and I had lunch in our backyard and I just sat soaking up the sun. And allergies are the worst!!

That sounds so awesome! I love it when the weather temperatures take a turn upward. It's never as cold here as it gets there. I'm looking forward to getting out a little bit in the coming days as soon as the pollen clears a little bit. 🙂
Hooray! Spring IS here! Well, actually, in MD it sort of skipped Spring this week and went right into Summer with the 80+ degree days. I LOVE to read outside but we can experience all 4 seasons in a day, pretty much, so it's tough to find that perfect weather. I prefer reading outdoors at a cafe or on a picnic blanket in the park when I can. Otherwise, I'm relegated to my balcony. When I'm inside, I read in the library/sunroom on this perfect little loveseat that's nestled in the corner by two gigantic windows. I just love to be in the sun.
We've had a couple of those 80 degree days and I just loved them – those are the warm ones I'm talking about! Those are my favorite days to sit out in the sun and read. (Our summers are 90+ usually here in my part of the state!) I've always thought a balcony sounded so cool.
My favorite place to read is my bed, with a close second being the couch in the shared living area of the apartment! I unfortunately don't have much of an opportunity to go out to read THOUGH I may remedy that with some Central Park jaunts in the summer 😉
Oh I love to read in my bed too! I read there everyday and of course it doesn't matter what the weather is like to read there. 🙂
I've always wanted to visit Central Park. That's really cool that you can go read there!
I love reading indoors. I have this cushy reading chair that I love. I wrap myself up in a blanket, have some tea waiting nearby, and just relax. 🙂
THAT SOUNDS AMAZING. Exactly perfect, except I'd probably drink coffee, but I'd love the blanket and the cushy chair! Aaahhh:)
I LOVE reading outdoors, and fortunately I live in southern California so I'm usually able to do it! I like taking books to the beach and the park so much, though there are rainy days and cold days when I can't do that and I'm all sad-face. And my friends get mad at me for being so spoiled, hah.
I was raised on the east coast though, and I can totally sympathize with the pollen issue…and mosquitoes and humidity, too! Man. But it's nice to roll around in an nicely air-conditioned bedroom, too. We readers always find a way.

Ugh, the pollen is terrible where I live to! I love this time of year in NW Florida (even if my sinuses don't!) because the weather is perfect for outdoor reading or outdoor anything. Have to take advantage because by this time next month it will be really hot and muggy! And it'll be that way through October!
Hope your allergies feel better soon, A!
Spring is kind of a dud in New England. Or at least it's very hit or miss. Flowers take forever to bloom and it's just not that warm consistently. That makes me sad :(. But I do love the summer and fall. However, I LOVE LOVE reading outside. ESPECIALLY at the beach. That is my favorite for sure. Unfortunately, with kids it's tough. Love this discussion post!!
OMG I LOVE THE WARM WEATHER. Seriously, all caps love required. I, too, love to read out on our back porch – I just need all this pollen to disappear! It's the worst. My favorite place to read when it's nice outside is at our neighborhood pool. I have to time it correctly though – because when all the neighbor kids are out it's not the best reading spot. But later in the day, perfection. If it's not nice outside, I'm all about reading in the bath or in bed!
