2. Ismae from Grave Mercy
Ismae has a rough start but defies the odds to become one of the most awesome, butt-kicking heroines I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. She’s awesome. She can be brutal when she needs to be but at the same time, she’s very much a lady and knows how to take care of her man.

3. Wendy Everly from the Trylle Trilogy
(Switched, Torn, Ascend)
Wendy thinks she’s an ordinary girl until she finds out she’s part of a magical world made up of trolls. She initially isn’t too warm on the idea, but eventually she realizes she is pretty important to the Trylle people. Plus she’s beautiful, gets to dress up all the time, and lives in a luxurious mansion. A day in the life of Wendy wouldn’t be too bad…especially with good-looking dudes like Finn and Loki wandering around.

6. Katsa and Fire from the Seven Kingdoms Trilogy
(Graceling, Fire, Bitterblue)
These two are probably my two favorite female leading characters because they are the most butt-kicking of any I know PLUS they are smart, beautiful, and self-confident. Also, HELLO they carry daggers and a bow-and-arrow, and they can use them better than most men. (I have not yet read Bitterblue. High hopes for another butt-kicker in that one.)

Great choices! Karou, Evie, Katsa, Fire, and Meghan are some of my favorite characters and I'd definitely trade places with them. If I had to choose just one though I'd say Meghan because of Ash. I'd also try to find a way to extend the 24 hours… (;
I agree! Prince Ash owns my heart. If he were real, I would try to go live in the Nevernever. HA!

The Paranormalcy books are really fun, quick reads that make me laugh. Evie is tough, girly, and also pretty hilarious. And I love the supporting characters. Definitely try and get to those books when you can!

The Night Circus is one of my favorite books ever, period. I just can't gush and rave about it enough.
And Grave Mercy was AMAZING. I can't wait for the next one either, but I'm nervous about it being a companion instead of a continuation of Ismae and Duval…I want more of them! (But I'll take what I can get.)

YES! Erin Morgenstern made it sound so amazing. I read the print copy and did the audio, and it was even better the second time around. I absolutely want to visit The Night Circus.
So uh…your entire list is like my entire TBR list. SO MANY of those (literally 9 of 10) are books I REALLY REALLY want to read, just haven't gotten to yet. Ismae and Karou seem like some pretty kick ass girls to be based on reviews too.

Thank you! Karou is awesome and so is Fire! I haven't read Bitterblue yet but I'm guessing as great as Katsa and Fire are, Bitterblue grows to be just as fantastic.

Oh my gracious, I hope you love it. I can barely form coherent sentences about how much I love that book. It's just brilliantly written, set, and characterized. I'd trade with Karou for a day anytime!

I've never read Vampire Academy, but I NEED TO. I think I'm the only person left that hasn't started that series yet! I keep saying I'm going to but I get sidetracked and forget!
I am in total and complete agreement about wanting to be Samantha for a day. Can you imagine hanging out with the Garretts and with Jase? Life would be AWESOME.
Also, yes to being Ana. Because Sam is amazing. And the world of Incarnate is so COMPLETELY intriguing.
