An account executive in a Mad Men world, Anna Wyatt is at a crossroads. Recently divorced, she’s done a lot of emotional housecleaning, including a self-imposed dating sabbatical. But now that she’s turned forty, she’s struggling to figure out what her life needs. Brainstorming to win over an important new client, she discovers a self-help book—Be the Heroine, Find Your Hero—that offers her unexpected insights and leads her to a most unlikely place: a romance writers’ conference. If she can sign the Romance Cover Model of the Year Pageant winner for her campaign—and meet the author who has inspired her to take control of her life—she’ll win the account.
For Anna, taking control means taking chances, including getting to know Sasha, her pretty young colleague on the project, and indulging in a steamy elevator ride with Lincoln Mallory, a dashing financial consultant she meets in the hotel. When the conference ends, Anna and Lincoln must decide if their intense connection is strong enough to survive outside the romantic fantasy they’ve created. Yet Lincoln is only one of Anna’s dilemmas. Now that her campaign is off the ground, others in the office want to steal her success, and her alcoholic brother, Ferdie, is spiraling out of control.
To have the life she wants-to be happy without guilt, to be accepted for herself, to love and to be loved, to just be—she has to put herself first, accept her imperfections, embrace her passions, and finally be the heroine of her own story.
I’ve enjoyed each of the Liza Palmer books that I’ve read so far, especially Nowhere But Home which I enthusiastically called one of my favorite Books Read in 2013. I just checked A Field Guide To Burying Your Parents out from the library and can’t wait to get started! Basically, I’m a huge fan. Based on the way I love her books PLUS this super pretty cover, I can hardly wait just the few months longer for this one!
I've never read any books by this author, but I would like to!!

Jen, I LOVE her. I'd start with Nowhere But Home and then move from there!
Hmm, this sounds right up my alley. Finally a single girl at my age story. I will have to add this to my TBR and keep an eye out for it. Thanks for sharing it!
Check out my WOW
YES! I love Liza Palmer – I just know you'll love her books. I hope you enjoy!
This sounds really interesting, I haven't heard of this author before. The cover is really pretty too!
Yes, I love the cover! Makes me want to read the book even more!
I haven't read any of the author's books either, but they sound pretty good!

They are! I especially love Nowhere But Home – SO GOOD!
I've only read Nowhere But Home, but I absolutely loved it! I actually own another of her books and had no idea it was hers! This one sounds really good and I'll have to keep an eye out for it when it comes out!
I absolutely loved Nowhere But Home too. I'd love to reread it sometime. The other books by this author that I've read are a little different than Nowhere But Home, but I have loved them too. I'm so excited about this one – Liza Palmer is instant-read status to me by now!
Oh, I like that it's a woman in a Mad Men Ad world. I'll have to check out this author since you speak so highly of her.
Thanks for the new book suggestion 🙂

That's great, Kat! I hope that you enjoy her books when you check them out. She's got some fantastic titles and I'm super excited to get my hands on this one!
This book is AMAZING. Truly incredible. I can't wait for you to read it. I need to read more of this author. I loved Nowhere But Home – though this I adored more. I hope this one gets lots of attention. It's super fun, but also has some incredible themes and female moments.
I'm SO GLAD you liked this one, Lauren. That makes me even more excited to pick it up. I'm really anxious to go ahead and read it, but at the same time, I want to sort of save it for a rainy day. Does that make any sense at all? Probably not. I LOVE the cover. LOVE it.
I loved Nowhere But Home too! It just hit all the right spots and I'm excited for this one too. I haven't read any of Ms. Palmer's other books, so I'm looking forward to trying another. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
The other books by Liza Palmer that I've read BESIDES Nowhere But Home have been different but I love that she has a broad range of stories. I'm excited to see how this one will play out. She's instant-read for me – I barely glance at the book summary anymore, if I do at all. I love her books!
