Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind
Santa Bringing Me

Here’s part of my wish list you guys:

**********************************************************

1. Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor
Being the book hoarder that I am – I actually have three copies of
Daughter of Smoke & Bone, which is the first book in this series.
I have this one on my Kindle AND on audiobook
but I’d love a copy for my shelf. Obviously.
Because LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS.

2. The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa

I actually have a couple of these on my Kindle.
I have some of them in audiobook.
What’s the hold up, Asheley?  HMMM??

**********************************************************

3. Rootless by Chris Howard

I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS BOOK.
Some of you have heard it from me a million trillion times.
I have the Kindle version and the audiobook version.
But I want a print copy for my shelves!
I actually KNOW why I haven’t gotten this one yet in print –
I’m waiting for Author Chris Howard to do a signing
SOMEWHERE within driving distance so I can purchase it
to get it signed. Sigh sigh sigh…

**********************************************************

4. The Name of the Wind & The Wise Man’s Fear
 by Patrick Rothfuss

I actually own the audiobooks for both.
I’ve read the first book – it took me about six months.
I loved it that much, to savor each word.
BUT while I read it, I had it checked out of the library the entire time.
YEP, totally need to OWN MY OWN COPIES.
Again, WHAT IS MY DEAL?

**********************************************************

5. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier

I love this book so much for everything about it.
It’s part of a larger series
and I really need to own them all, but I’ve only read this one.

I have no excuse for not owning this one already in any format at all.
For shame!

**********************************************************

6. Grave Mercy and Dark Triumph
 by Robin LaFevers

Oh, hello there, awesome books that do not live on my shelves yet!
Why don’t you guys just come on over and make yourselves at home?
And invite your buddy Mortal Heart when it’s available, m’kay?!

(I am so fortunate to have an arc of Grave Mercy and it is also on my Kindle
but I really want a copy with that STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING cover
with that red dress. I can barely look at it for its beauty.)

**************************************************

7. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

You guys, this may be one of my two favorite books EVER.
And I do not own it in any format at all.
That is lame.

I’m probably most embarrassed of all about this one because I do not own it in
ANY FORMAT AT ALL and it is probably my favorite of all.
I attribute this to nerves and quirks.
Just trust me.
It is far to beautiful and wonderful and I am likely unworthy?
Don’t ask. Gosh, I’m such a nerd.

**************************************************

8. The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly

This is probably my other favorite book EVER.
And I don’t own it in any format either.
WHAT WHAT WHAT??
Ugh. Lame again.

So, so embarrassed for the same reason as The Night Circus.
Such a nerd. UGH.

**************************************************

9. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

Oh HEY THERE my favorite book that I read in 2013!
I want to own you SO MUCH.
When I read this one, I read it as a library loan.
I SOOO need my own copy to re-read over and over
because I fell SO HARD for these characters and their story!

**************************************************

10. Railsea by China Mieville

Railsea was one of my favorites from last year that I
read as a library loan and I just haven’t gotten around to
purchasing a copy for my shelves. I have the audiobook though –
of course – but you guys know that I never audiobook without a print copy to
follow along with at the same time.

I just love this story so much – it was truly an adventure story and left a great
enough impression on me that I NEED IT ON MY SHELVES for re-reads!

**************************************************

YOU GUYS this list is almost identical to my list
from last year. I think I’ve done most of my buying
for my Kindle and audiobooks!

So interesting! But I want THESE so much!

Which books are on your wish lists for Santa?

  1. I actually really didn't ask for many books this year-more clothes. But two I should have considered are The Diviners by Libba Bray and The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton as they are two massive books that will probably take me a while to read so it might be nice to own rather than borrow from the library.

  2. *claps in excitement* Yes….the Iron Fey series would be good too. Not only that, but they also look collectible. Daughter of the Forest sounds beautiful. I might have to look into that….and add more books to my to-read-in-the-future list, haha. I'm picky about the ones I choose to collect, I read everything else via library loan, gifts, or Kindle. 🙂 Happy holidays!

  3. Hahaha you are as bad as I am about owning copies of books! I'm glad there are people out there who understand owning an ebook version of a book you love is just not enough! And you NEED to read the other Juliet Marillier books! Daughter of the Forest will probably always be my favourite, but I actually like her Bridei Chronicles and Light Isles series better as a whole. Go read them all!!

  4. I have noticed that a lot of the titles on your list are books that I've been meaning to read. In particular, I still have to get around to reading Attachments & the His Fair Assassin books! You can totally book push those on me. I won't mind at all 😉
