Ten Books on My Fall To-Read List
(This isn’t all of them. Ten is much too restrictive today!)

Rootless by Chris Howard
Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

These are my TOP TWO most anticipated fall reads, you guys!

I’m so excited to read Rootless by Chris Howard because 1) the story looks incredible 2) the cover grabs my eye and 3) I could hang out on this author’s/book’s website for hours looking at everything. Is a website a real reason to anticipate a book? I THINK YES. At chrishowardbooks.com you can hunt for seven hidden clues – when you find the clues, email them to author Chris Howard and he’ll send you a preview of the book!
The scavenger hunt is fun, y’all. DO IT. I did it just for fun!

I’m over-the-moon about Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor because – come on! – if you read Daughter of Smoke & Bone, you know why. I’ve been absolutely on edge waiting, waiting, waiting to find out WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT to Karou and Akiva and the others…Plus never have I ever read another author that writes quite like Laini Taylor. So exquisite, so beautiful – her words wrap you up and pull you inside of her story

The rest of my list, no particular order:

Ironskin by Tina Connolly
Midnight City by J. Barton Mitchell

The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa
Dearly, Beloved by Lia Habel

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff

Mystic City by Theo Lawrence
The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle

YOU GUYS.
There are so many great books coming out this Fall. I want to read them all…not to mention the books already released that I still want to read!
AND…I didn’t even put any contemporaries on this list!!

  3. Great list. I anxiously awaiting many of these too although Midnight City is new to me. I'm getting a Falling Skies vibe. Added to my ever expanding TBR pile πŸ™‚

  4. I'm overwhelmed this week. SO many good books coming out this fall. And I'd never even HEARD of some of them. That's more for my TBR. Ironskin sounds fascinating. I love Jane Eyre. I'm already excited about The Lost Prince, Dearly, Beloved and Days of Blood and Starlight. Basically I added all the rest to my list. And even an Amish one – can't wait to find out what THAT's about.

  5. I have a bunch of these already so it's exciting to see they made your list too, Ashley! Somehow Rootless has slipped past my radar. Adding it now because it's got that magic word in the description: SALVAGE. You know I LOVE those kinds of books:)

    My TTT

  6. Ahhhh Stormdancer is fricken fantastic. I have a feeling you will love it.

I am DYING to read Days Of Blood And Starlight.

I also have The Hallowed Ones on my TBR, just not in the post.

Hope you read all the books listed, Asheley! πŸ˜€

  7. I'm absolutely dying for Days of Blood and Starlight. DYING ASHELEY! I don't know how much longer I can function without it. I can't wait for Mystic City either, and of course The Lost Prince. I just finished Alice in Zombieland and LOVED it, it was just a really fun book. I'm a huge Gena Showalter fan:)

  8. Incredible Top Ten this week!(: DoBS made my list this week too, although none of your other picks did. I can tell you right now though that Stormdancer and Midnight City are AWESOME! I loved them both, especially Stormdancer, so you're in for a treat! πŸ˜€

  9. Ash

I agree! Days of Blood and Starlight is top of my list too. Laini Taylor is such a beautiful writer. I'm just in awe of her style and I can't wait to see what her next book holds. :]

  10. DUDE. I'm adding so many from your list to my TBR list as I haven't heard of many of them. I SO should have added Daughter of Smoke & Bone to my list..I need to get to that one. Everyone loves that book and I see so many people excited about the newest!

  11. I am almost done reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone and wow! I think I chose a good time to read that book, since now my wait won't be quite as long until the sequel! I'm not very familiar with any of the others you mentioned, but you've definitely piqued my interest. Seems like lots of good books are coming out this fall!

  12. Em

I'm reading Stormdancer right now and liking it so far! I'm curious about Rootless – a copy just arrived in the mail today which is funny timing as I just wrapped up a discussion about the whole "paperless society" debate in one of my classes. Anyway, looks like some fun and exciting reading ahead of you!

  13. Wow! What gorgeous covers! I haven't heard of any of these aside from ironskin and "Days of Blood and Starlight". have some goodreads summaries to look at now :). Thanks for stopping by our blog!

  14. I hadn't heard of a lot of these but they all sound good. I especially lover the covers for Ironskin and Mystic City!
P.S. Thanks for all the comment love on my blog! πŸ™‚

  15. Yesyesyes, completely agree on your feelings about Laini Taylor's writing. So glad you and a couple others mentioned Daughter of Smoke and Bone in a previous Top Ten list since that was the kick-in-the-butt I needed to finally read it. πŸ™‚ Cannot wait for that book! Great list!
