in my schedule!

I’m behind and I’m trying to catch up!

What Contemporary titles
are you most looking forward to reading, whether published already
or not yet released?

  1. Fabulous list, Asheley! I'm going to be reading Pushing the Limits soon and I'm excited about it. I've heard great things.

    • OH ME TOO LORI! I'm having a hard time not tearing into it right now. I read Asher Knight's blog post from Paranormal Indulgence and wanted to throw everything else down and just pick it up RIGHT THEN. Harlequin Teen puts out great stuff from my experience!

    • Hey Nicola! I've heard some mixed things from a blogger or two about Temptation, which always makes me want to read things even more so I can decide for myself. I'm super excited to get to it. 🙂

  2. Great list! I've checked out The Sky is Everywhere from my library twice and I didn't get to it both times! I've heard it's absolutely fabulous though. Also, I'm so glad to see Sarah Dessen on your list – yay!

    • Asheley's going old school.

Yeah, some of the other contemp-loving bloggers did this nonofficial twitter poll for which contemps I need to read ASAP, and The Sky Is Everywhere was #1. So I'm planning to read is ASAP, like within the next week probably. I'm a little nervous about it because I've heard it is a tearjerker.

And I have NO EXCUSES for not reading Sarah Dessen. NONE. She is a NC author. I should have already done this!

  3. Ooh, I just got approved for Pushing the Limits on the SBB Tour (so excited!) and I'm starting The Sky is Everywhere this week, which I hear so many great things about:) Contemp. I'm most looking forward to? Probably Love and Other Perishable Items, which is the US title for the Aussie book The Good Oil by Laura Buzo. I am totally smitten with those Aussie writers:)

    My Top Ten

    • Heather, I love you and your Aussie author-loving self. It's like comfort food to my soul or something, haha. Actually, I need to start writing some of these names down, because I'm actually not up on the Aussies.

YES to Pushing the Limits (can't wait) and The Sky is Everywhere (scared to pieces). We'll know how it goes soon!

  4. Ems

So I'm reading a contemp right now for a blog tour and I DON'T LIKE IT. I'm having a hard time caring about anything happening and it's driving me crazy. I feel completely obligated to finish & review because of the tour, but blah.

On the upside, I just finished another contemp and LOVED it (even though it wasn't YA). So I'm getting better at it!

    My Top Ten

    • Oh gosh, Ems, isn't that the WORST? And then you have to be all honest and stuff…I'm so sorry! These contemps are tough for people like us that love all of the other stuff so much.

Rock on for getting better at it! I hope I start getting better at it pretty soon. EEK.

  5. I've got quite a few contemps on my summer reading list, but we'll see how many I get to! 🙂 Going Bovine, Callum & Harper, Pilgrims Don't Wear Pink, The Difference Between You and Me, I Hunt Killers, Take A Bow.

    • Oh gosh I've been wanting to read Callum & Harper forever. I need to put that on my list a little bit higher! It's buried underneath the stuff I keep adding. Thanks for reminding me. I LOVE the cover for it too, which is part of the reason I want to read it so much. I like the way I Hunt Killers sounds too. Great list!

    • I think – I hope – I'm gonna like Purity. I tend to like books like that, so I have high hopes for it. It isn't that long. (I miss my paranormals and dystopians! I'm going on a binge after contemp month is over. No kidding!)

    • Thanks Tanya! I'm newish to the contemps too but I'm enjoying them so far. I've read a slew of the romance-y ones at the beginning of the month – I have some more issue-related ones for the latter part of the month.

  6. The Sky is Everywhere was absolutely lovely! I tore through it like a crazy person because I just couldn't put it down. Fact: I borrowed it from the library but I'm going to buy a copy because it's a book I want to own. So read it, lady 🙂

  7. *melts* This list is fabulous! I've read My Life Next Door and loved it! REALLY excited for Pushing the Limits. Was gifted The Sky Is Everywhere last month and can't wait to start it! And a few months a go I won Where it Began…let's hope it eventually shows, huh!

    😀

  8. Yaaay, I haven't read any of these books yet :O I love contemporary books, I've read a bunch of them. I can't wait to read Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally! The first book, Catching Jordan was amazing!

  9. I'm dying to read Pushing the Limits and My Life Next Door- put myself on a book ban so they will have to wait until July!
The Sky is Everywhere- I knew I recognised it! It may be one of the only books I've wanted to read to be released in UK before the US 😛

    Enjoy them!
