So technically these aren’t necessarily at the top. They’re just on the list.
Along with a ton of others.
These are totally just random picks. 🙂

1. The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
I know a ton of other people have read this already and loved it.
I have it situated perfectly for my schedule and cannot wait to get to it!

2. Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith
The pre-publication buzz for this one is crazy already
but I want it highlighted in my contemporary month if possible.
We’ll see how that goes!

by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski
Oh I’m so excited about reading this one.
There’s a certain group of people that really love their road trip stories!
I can’t wait to see how this one pans out.

6. Falling For You by Lisa Schroeder
I love Lisa Schroeder and this book looks great.

9. Thou Shalt Not Road Trip by Antony John
Well, I mean, this book is by Antony John.
He wrote Elemental! So that is enough for me.
But most everyone else knows him from his contemporary works FIRST.
I just did it BACKWARD! Can’t wait to dive into this one. SERIOUSLY.
I have it sitting by my bed. WAITING ON ME.

10. Callum & Harper by Fisher Amelie
I read this book by Fisher Amelie recently called VAIN
and was BLOWN AWAY. It’s one of my favorites in a very long time.
I want to read MORE of her work and as soon as possible, please!
Plus HOW COOL IS THAT COVER?

I feel like I've come across The Sea of Tranquility somewhere before either on GR or another blog but the cover is lovely, I'm going to have to check it out now 😉 Great list!
Here's my TTT =)
Thanks! I can't wait to read it and I agree that the cover is pretty!
I loved How My Summer Went Up in Flames, and Thou Shalt Not Road Trip looks good too! 🙂 My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/03/11/spring-2013-tbr-list/
Alice @ Alice in Readerland
I'm really excited to read them both! 🙂
I've read The Summer Series by Jenny Han. I enjoyed it but it's far from my favorite. Yes for Callum and Harper!
I've heard mixed reviews about the Summer Series but I've been meaning to get to it. And I'm so glad to hear great about Callum and Harper! I'm SUPER excited about that one! Love that cover. I just read VAIN and absolutely LOVED it a ton.
Where She Went is amazing! The Sky is Everywhere as well. Enjoy 🙂
my TTT
I just finished Where She Went on Wednesday, actually and WOW. It IS amazing. I loved it so much more than If I Stay. And I'm pretty excited about The Sky Is Everywhere too – I'm thinking of reading that one along with Audiobook. 🙂
I'm still on the fence regarding The Sea of Tranquility and if I want to read it or not. Great TBR list and happy reading!
Jessica @ Literary, etc
Thank you! I hope I like it. I've heard some great things from some of my reading friends!
Fantastic list of Contemporary Romance 😀
Here's my Top Ten Tuesday.
Have a great week!
Thanks Angelica! I'm excited about the chance to dive into the contemps for an extended time and read them all. 🙂
I really liked Five Flavors of Dumb by Anthony John. Have you read it yet? I still need to read Elemental by him.
I haven't read Five Flavors yet but one of my libraries has it and I'm planning to try and get to it during my contemporary month. I love the Five Flavors cover!
I'm so excited for How My Summer Went Up in Flames! I love summer novels, and I love a good contemporary so EEP.
Books of Amber
People seem to be really excited about that one. It has a fun cover and the summary sounds fun. PLUS hooray for debut authors, right?
ROAD TRIPS! I love a good contemporary novel, so your list is PERFECT (and awful at the same time, because really? Now there are so many new books on MY TBR/to buy shelf!)
I KNOW! I feel the same way! There are so many good ones coming out that I want to read SO MANY – PLUS in other genres too! So many good books, so little time. 🙂
Dare You To and How My Summer are both on my Spring TBR list, too. I cannot wait to read them.
The Sea of Tranquility is interesting. It's very intense. It isn't a favorite, but I liked it.
I can't wait for Dare You To – I'm having a fit about it. Everyone seems to be excited about How My Summer and it looks really fun!
I've heard that about The Sea of Tranquility – I'm eager to get into it to see what it is all about.
I really want to read the Summer series as well. I almost forgot about them, but they sound perfect for the summer! 🙂
Enjoy the books you want to read. 🙂
Nina@J'adore Happy Endings
People have been recommending The Summer Series to me for awhile but I've only recently completed the series on my shelf, so I can hopefully read them all in succession soon.
OH my gosh, girl, I'm sooo excited for you to read The Sea Of Tranquility! Seriously. So much love for that book!
AND Where She Went!! Eep!!
Great picks for this week!! Sounds like you'll have a great spring 🙂
I just finished Where She Went and LOVE LOVE LOVED it. So much. I also can't wait to read The Sea of Tranquility! I'm hearing mixed things but that makes me want to read it more. 🙂
So excited for these! I finally read (and ADORED) Pushing the Limits last week so OMG I can't wait for Dare You To. You have no idea how excited I am for Contemp Month. 😉 Recs? Oh my goodness – here goes: Please Ignore Vera Dietz, Double Clutch, Just One Day, The Mockingbirds, Amy & Roger's Epic Detour, Something Like Normal, My Life Next Door, Pregnant Pause, Some Girls Are, 52 Reasons to Hate My Father, Meant to Be, I Hunt Killers, Stolen: A Letter to My Captor. I'm sure you've read a lot of those, but they're some of my faves. Great list, Asheley!
I KNOW DARE YOU TO I CAN'T WAIT SEE NO PUNCTUATION TO SHOW MY EXCITEMENT!!!
I'm have read a few of these but I'm coming back to this list and see if I can add some of these because you are a contemporary genius.
I want to read all of these (that I haven't already read!)! Callum and Harper, The Sea of Tranquility and Where She Went are fantastic. Love Antony John! Have you read THE FIVE FLAVORS OF DUMB yet? You would really like that one! Great music themes. The only one here that I'm not touching with a ten foot pole is The Summer Series! No way could I handle that girl or that triangle. But I'm eager to hear your thoughts.
Haha, I've heard mixed things about The Summer Series, but I got it specifically for this event last year and didn't work it in and then I got it signed at yallfest so I'm definitely gonna try it out. Also, I plan on Five Flavors, yes! I just didn't put it on here. I love the cover of that one.
The cover from Waiting for you is very pretty indeed! I hope you love all your picks when you get to read them 😀
TTT -Mel@thedailyprophecy.
Thank you! Me too. I've had my eye on Waiting For You for a while now. 🙂
I ADORE your list! I can't wait for you to read these since I've read most of them and loved most of them, sooo I can't wait to share the love with you!
YAYYYY I'm so happy you're my reading and contemp-loving friend!!! I can't wait tooooo:)
I still need to read Where She Went too! One day…
Where She Went is SO GOOD, so much better than If I Stay even. I loved the angsty male POV. Hope you love it whenever you get to it!
Oh I wanna read Wild Awake! And oh my gosh girl, READ Where She Went!! It is so effin' good!! I just started Sea of Tranquility and it is really good so far, I don't wanna go to work, I just wanna read…oops :/
YES Where She Went, I just finished that thing just yesterday and OH the angsty Adam, I loved him so. Working gets in the way of everything!
I am totally with you on some of your Contemp picks: The Sky is Everywhere, something by Jennifer Echols (never read her before), and some more Sarah Dessen! Great picks!
As far as a contemp rec…how about Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler? It's super cute and a perfect read for winter!
I've never read anything by Sarah Ockler but she has been recently recommended to me so I'm going to try and get to her during my contemporary month! I've heard Bittersweet is a good choice and I'd also like to read Twenty Boy Summer. 🙂
I super love your list! Almost all these are books I want to read myself. Dare You To was really amazing, and I loved every single page is perfect! 🙂
Top 10 Tuesdays
Waiting on Wednesday
OH YAY! I can't wait to read it too! I loved Pushing the Limits so much and I can imagine that it'll be great. Plus the cover is awesome. 🙂
I'm loving that your list is mostly contemporary! There are definitely a few titles on here that I need to check out, especially If I Stay + Where She Went (which I have yet to read).
I'm totally in support of you reading the Summer series. I'm planning to finish it out this spring myself!
Oh my goodness, I finished Where She Went yesterday and I just loved it SO MUCH. So very much. I've been meaning to read The Summer Series since last year's contemporary month when Ginger mentioned how much she loved it, but I just didn't get to it last year. THIS YEAR, though!!
My most recent find that I must recommend is the book Shanghai Love, by author Layne Wong (http://laynewong.com/). It is an unlikely love story between a Chinese herbalist and a Jewish refugee looking for safety from Nazi Germany. The herbalist, Peilin, was betrothed to a man who was killed before their wedding but tradition and honor forced the marriage along anyways. She is sent to Shanghai to manage his family’s herbal shop. Shanghai is also Henri’s destination as he has graduated from medical school as Hitler is rising to power. He flees to Shanghai where he’s befriended by Ping, Peilin’s brother. Through her kindness, Henri becomes fascinated with Chinese herbs as well as the exotic culture surrounding him. It is such a gripping story and I absolutely adore a romance novel that allows a relationship to slowly blossom and one that takes time before the two can ultimately be together I hope you will give it a read!
